Treatments studied

Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This trial tests whether the drug colchicine can reduce the chance of developing atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm) after open-heart surgery. If it works, it could help you recover more smoothly.

Colchicine’s effect on inflammation after heart bypass surgery

This trial tests whether the drug colchicine can reduce inflammation after planned coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. It may help patients recover better by lowering inflammatory markers.

NCT05618353Recruiting· Phase 4
Colchicine before surgery to lower heart and inflammation complications

This trial tests whether taking colchicine around the time of surgery can reduce bad events after surgery in people at higher heart risk. It focuses on helping prevent complications related to inflammation after an operation.

Colchicine for people with certain irregular heartbeats

This trial tests whether colchicine can help people with paroxysmal or persistent atrial fibrillation (AF), a type of irregular heartbeat, after a successful cardioversion. It may help reduce future AF problems, depending on the results.

NCT05890664Recruiting· Phase 3
Colchicine after shock treatment to stop atrial fibrillation

This trial tests whether colchicine given after cardioversion (a procedure that restores normal rhythm) helps keep the heart in normal rhythm afterward. It may help some people have fewer early returns of atrial fibrillation.

Low-dose colchicine to prevent bypass graft failure

This trial tests whether a low dose of colchicine, an anti-inflammatory medication, can help prevent bypass grafts from closing after heart surgery. You would take this medication for a set period after your coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery.
