Who can take part

  • You must either have severe sleep apnea (AHI > 30) or be a healthy person with no sleep problems.
  • If you are healthy, you cannot have any sleep disorder, and you must score low on sleepiness and sleep quality tests.
  • You cannot have a heart rhythm problem or a brain/psychiatric condition that affects your nervous system.
  • You must be willing to have a sleep study (polysomnography) that records your heart and brain activity.
  • You must be able to understand the study and give your consent.
