Who can take part
- You have a type of sarcoma (cancer that starts in connective tissue) that is in the retroperitoneal space (the back of your belly) or deep in the pelvis, confirmed by biopsy.
- Your tumor can be seen on CT or MRI scans and your doctors believe it can be treated with radiation before surgery with a goal to remove it completely.
- You are 18 years or older and your general health is good enough to allow daily activities (ECOG score 0–2).
- Your kidney, bone marrow, and liver function are normal based on recent blood tests.
- You have not had radiation to your belly or pelvis before, and no chemotherapy or immunotherapy in the last 6 weeks.
- If you can become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test before starting treatment and use effective birth control.
