Who can take part

  • You must be under 18 years old.
  • You must have a confirmed or suspected Gram negative bacterial infection that needs IV antibiotics for at least 3 days.
  • You must be in the hospital for treatment.
  • You cannot have had a serious allergic reaction to beta-lactam antibiotics before.
  • You cannot be taking certain medicines like valproic acid, probenecid, or immunosuppressive drugs.
