Who can take part
- You are an adult who needs a liver biopsy because of abnormal liver tests.
- You have not taken any anti-platelet medicines (like aspirin or clopidogrel) or blood thinners (like warfarin) in the last 5 days.
- You do not have a large amount of fluid in your belly (moderate-to-gross ascites).
- You do not have severe liver scarring (Child C cirrhosis).
- Your blood clotting test (INR) is not higher than 2.01.
- Your platelet count is not lower than 50,000.
