  • You have a long, blocked section in your main heart artery (LAD).
  • Your heart's pumping strength is good (ejection fraction over 40%).
  • Your bypass surgery is planned ahead of time (not an emergency).
  • You are not having any other heart valve surgery at the same time.
  • You do not have severe kidney or liver failure or need dialysis.
