Who can take part

  • You need bypass surgery on at least two heart arteries, including one to the main front artery (LAD).
  • You must be between 45 and 75 years old.
  • Your heart's pumping strength (ejection fraction) must be 35% or higher.
  • You cannot have had open-heart surgery before.
  • You must not have poorly controlled diabetes (A1C above 8) or serious kidney disease (GFR below 45).
  • You must be willing to take blood-thinning medicines as prescribed after surgery.
