A second nerve block for less pain after lung surgery

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • You are scheduled for video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS).
  • Your health is stable enough for surgery (ASA class I–III).
  • You are not allergic to numbing medicines (local anesthetics).
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder and are not on blood thinners.
  • You have not used strong painkillers (opioids) long-term.
  • You do not have chest wall problems or a nerve condition affecting how you feel pain.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You can understand the study and give your okay (informed consent).
