Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with definite or probable ALS.
- You do not have frontotemporal dementia (a type of dementia that affects personality and language).
- You do not have other significant thinking or behavior problems that would make it hard to take part.
- You do not have other medical conditions (besides ALS) that cause breathing problems or abnormal blood gas levels.
- If you take blood thinners or have a history of blood clotting issues, your blood's clotting level (INR) must be 3 or less.
