Who can take part

  • You have had a first stroke (confirmed by a brain scan) and now have some trouble moving your arm or hand.
  • You are between 20 and 80 years old.
  • Your thinking and memory are fairly good (score of 20 or higher on a mental status test).
  • You do not have serious health problems like pneumonia, heart failure, or infection, and no metal in your brain, pacemaker, pregnancy, or recent seizures.
  • You are willing to sign a consent form to participate.
