Study of nicotinamide riboside for Huntington's disease

This trial tests if a vitamin B3-like supplement, nicotinamide riboside, can help people with early to mid-stage Huntington's disease. You will be randomly assigned to take the supplement or a placebo to see if it slows the disease.

Who can take part

  • You must have a confirmed genetic test showing you carry the Huntington's disease gene (36 or more CAG repeats).
  • You must have clear symptoms of Huntington's disease, diagnosed by a doctor, and be in early or mid-stage disease.
  • You must be able to walk indoors with or without a walking aid.
  • You must be able to do pen-and-paper tests and answer questionnaires.
  • You must not have taken vitamin B3 supplements in the last 3 months.
  • You must not have had gene therapy for Huntington's disease.
