This trial uses a brain imaging technique called fNIRS (a safe, non-invasive headband) to give you real-time feedback on your brain activity. The goal is to help you learn to improve your emotion regulation. It may be helpful if you have no major mental health conditions and want to try a new way to manage emotions.

Who can take part

  • You have normal vision or wear glasses/contacts to see normally.
  • You are right-handed.
  • You do not have significant depression symptoms (score below 29 on a depression questionnaire).
  • You have no current or past mental health conditions.
  • You have no current or past chronic pain.
  • You do not have certain medical conditions (like heart disease, fainting, seizures, or wounds on hands/arms) and do not use alcohol or nicotine often.
