Dapagliflozin for advanced heart failure patients waiting for transplant

Who can take part

  • 18 to 85 years old
  • Severe heart failure symptoms (NYHA class III or IV) – meaning shortness of breath or fatigue even with minimal activity or at rest
  • Heart's pumping strength (LVEF) is 35% or less
  • Already on standard heart failure treatments, including dapagliflozin, at the highest tolerated doses
  • On the waiting list for a heart transplant (or on the path to be listed), with no expected transplant in the next 6 months
  • No current use of a heart pump (VAD), no dependence on IV heart medicines, and no recent hospital stay for worsening heart failure in the past month
