Dapagliflozin to improve heart function after bypass surgery

Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old
  • You are having elective (planned, not emergency) off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting surgery
  • Your heart's left pumping chamber (left ventricle) has weakened function, measured as less than 50% ejection fraction on a heart ultrasound before surgery
  • You do not have severe kidney disease (kidney function at least 25 mL/min/1.73 m²)
  • You can tolerate SGLT2 inhibitor medications (a class of diabetes drugs) with no allergies or medical reasons to avoid them
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
