Who can take part
- You are at least 18 years old
- You are having elective (planned, not emergency) off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting surgery
- Your heart's left pumping chamber (left ventricle) has weakened function, measured as less than 50% ejection fraction on a heart ultrasound before surgery
- You do not have severe kidney disease (kidney function at least 25 mL/min/1.73 m²)
- You can tolerate SGLT2 inhibitor medications (a class of diabetes drugs) with no allergies or medical reasons to avoid them
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
