Who can take part

  • You are between 10 and 35 years old.
  • You have had your kneecap dislocate (pop out of place) at least once, or you have clear proof of dislocation from a physical exam or MRI.
  • You have not had any surgery on the same knee before.
  • Your kneecap does not stay permanently out of place (it only dislocates during certain activities).
  • You do not have severe cartilage damage that would need a separate bone surgery, and you do not have other major knee instability issues.
