Who can take part

  • You had a major heart attack (ST-elevation) within the last 36 hours
  • You are in cardiogenic shock – very low blood pressure that needs medicine to keep it up – for less than 24 hours
  • Your heart's pumping strength is less than 45%
  • Your shock is not caused by other issues like sepsis, bleeding, or a blood clot in the lung
  • You do not have a mechanical heart valve or a clot in your heart
  • You are not already on a heart pump (Impella or VA-ECMO)
