Who can take part
- You are 18 years old or older.
- You are scheduled for heart surgery that uses a heart-lung machine with normal body temperature.
- Your kidney function is at least 50, as measured by a standard blood test.
- You are not currently taking more than 100 mg of furosemide per day (or a similar water pill).
- You are not on dialysis and have not had acute kidney injury recently.
- You can have a urinary catheter placed.
