Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older with chronic kidney disease stage 3 or 4 (moderate to severe kidney damage).
  • You have anemia caused by your kidney disease, and your hemoglobin level is below 11.5 g/dL.
  • You are already receiving medication (like epoetin or darbepoetin) to treat your anemia.
  • Your anemia is not due to other causes like pernicious anemia, thalassemia, sickle cell disease, or bone marrow problems.
  • You have not had a heart attack, stroke, or severe heart failure in the last 6 months, and you do not have active cancer or a recent cancer history.
