Testing nerve tap to protect breathing muscle on ventilator

Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You have been on a breathing machine (ventilator) for 3 full days or more.
  • You do not have a pacemaker.
  • You do not have a muscle or nerve disease that affects breathing.
  • You do not have paralysis of the diaphragm (the main breathing muscle).
  • You do not have severe lung problems like ARDS, collapsed lung, or large fluid buildup.
