Who can take part
- You are 18 to 85 years old
- You are generally healthy and can do most daily activities (ECOG score 0-2)
- You have been diagnosed with rectal adenocarcinoma (a specific type of cancer) through a biopsy
- An MRI shows your tumor is stage cT1-3 and has not spread to distant organs
- The largest tumor on MRI is 5 cm or smaller
- You have not had prior chemotherapy or radiation for this cancer, and you do not have severe mental illness
