Who can take part

  • You must have moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis or systemic lupus erythematosus.
  • For rheumatoid arthritis: you must have a diagnosis based on official criteria, positive rheumatoid factor or anti-CCP antibodies, and at least 6 swollen and 6 tender joints (or certain inflammation on MRI).
  • For lupus: you must have a diagnosis based on official criteria, a positive ANA test (1:80 or higher), and at least one other autoantibody (anti-dsDNA or anti-Smith).
  • You cannot have taken any other investigational drug or device within 30 days or 5 half-lives before starting the study.
  • You must be willing to follow study rules and visit schedule.
  • You cannot have certain other health problems like serious active lupus affecting the brain (except headache) or Felty's syndrome (for RA).
