  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have ARDS (a severe lung condition) and have been on a breathing machine for less than 72 hours
  • You do NOT have a collapsed lung (pneumothorax)
  • You are NOT on a heart-lung bypass machine (ECMO)
  • You are NOT pregnant
  • You have no severe chest injuries or wounds that prevent using a monitoring belt
