- You are 18 years or older.
- You do not have a central line or PICC line already in place.
- You have shock and require at least one of these medicines at a low dose: norepinephrine, phenylephrine, epinephrine, or dobutamine.
- You do not need immediate dialysis through a new catheter.
- You are not currently taking more than two blood pressure medicines to keep your blood pressure above 65.
- You are not pregnant or suspected to be pregnant.
