Who can take part

  • You have severe narrowing of your aortic valve confirmed by an echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) in the past 3 months.
  • You have symptoms like trouble breathing, chest pain, or fainting, or your heart's pumping function is below 50%.
  • Your heart team says your risk of dying from surgery is under 4% based on your overall health.
  • You have not had heart surgery or a chest tube before.
  • Your other heart valves are not severely damaged, and you do not have blockages in your leg arteries that would prevent a catheter procedure.
  • You are willing and able to give written informed consent to participate.
