  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have rectal cancer that has come back in the pelvis but has not spread to other organs.
  • You have not had chemotherapy for this cancer before.
  • You have not had radiation treatment to the pelvis within the last 6 months.
  • You are in good general health (able to do daily activities without help).
