Who can take part

  • You must have avascular necrosis (AVN) in the ball of your hip joint.
  • The AVN must be at an early stage (called ARCO I or II) – meaning the hip has not collapsed yet.
  • You must be able to have a specific type of hip surgery called core decompression with bone marrow concentrate.
  • You cannot have other medical problems that make surgery unsafe, like severe obesity or serious heart/lung disease.
  • You cannot be pregnant or a prisoner.
  • You must be willing to sign a consent form and follow all study procedures.
