Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • Your BMI is between 18.5 and 29.9
  • You have uremia (kidney failure) and need dialysis, OR you are having forearm or hand surgery and do not have any other nerve condition
  • You are not allergic to numbing medicines like ropivacaine
  • You do not have a bleeding disorder, infection, or severe heart/lung disease that would prevent a nerve block
  • You are not pregnant
