Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You have locally advanced rectal adenocarcinoma (stage IIA to IIIC) with the tumor's lower edge within 10 cm of the anus.
- You are in good physical condition (ECOG score 0–1).
- You have not had any prior cancer treatment, including surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or immunotherapy.
- Your organs are functioning well (based on blood tests), and you are not using probiotics in the last 2 months.
- You do not have active infections (like hepatitis, HIV, syphilis), severe heart or lung disease, or weight loss over 20% in 90 days.
