This trial tests a medication called droxidopa to see if it can raise blood pressure in people with cirrhosis who also have acute kidney injury. If you have low blood pressure and are in the hospital with these conditions, this study may help improve your kidney function.

Who can take part
- You are 18 to 70 years old and currently in the hospital at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
- You have cirrhosis (liver scarring) that is at least moderate (Child-Pugh B or higher) and you have acute kidney injury (a sudden drop in kidney function).
- Your average blood pressure over the last 24 hours is 85 mmHg or lower.
- You can take medications by mouth and agree to blood and urine tests.
- You do not have severe heart disease, active internal bleeding, severe breathing problems, or certain medical conditions that could interact with the study drug.
- You have not had a liver transplant and are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
