Who can take part

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must have chronic kidney disease with a certain level of kidney function (eGFR between 20 and 90) and high protein in your urine (more than 700 mg/g or 1000 mg/g).
  • You must be on a stable dose of a blood pressure medication (ACE inhibitor or ARB) for at least 4 weeks.
  • You cannot have moderate to severe heart failure (Class III or IV), Type 1 diabetes, or a recent heart-related hospitalization.
  • If you are a woman who can get pregnant, you must use effective birth control and have a negative pregnancy test.
  • You must not have other serious medical conditions that would make the study unsafe, like severe liver disease or a history of certain cancers.
