Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 80 years old.
  • You had a closed head injury (not an open wound) and were admitted to the hospital within 24 hours.
  • Your brain injury is mild or moderate (Glasgow Coma Scale score of 9 to 15).
  • You have not had a stroke, brain injury, brain tumor, or brain surgery in the past year.
  • You have no history of heart disease, heart symptoms, or conditions that could affect heart tests.
  • You can have an MRI (no metal implants, not pregnant).
