Who can take part

  • You must be between 25 and 70 years old.
  • You must have either the TT or CC gene type at rs7903146.
  • Your HbA1c (average blood sugar) must be 6.5% or lower.
  • You cannot be taking any diabetes medications like metformin or sulfonylureas.
  • You cannot have had prior upper abdominal surgery (like gastric banding or stomach surgery).
