  • You must have Graves' disease confirmed by a blood test.
  • You cannot have hyperthyroidism from other causes like a toxic nodule or goiter.
  • You must not have had a thyroid storm in the last six weeks.
  • You cannot have had radioactive iodine treatment or thyroid surgery in the past.
