Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for heart or blood vessel surgery
  • You are 18 years or older
  • Your health status is rated ASA I, II, III, or IV (a standard classification of physical health)
  • You do not have a known difficult airway history
  • You do not have head, neck, or upper airway problems
  • You are not at high risk for aspiration (inhaling stomach contents)
