This study tests a drug called ambrisentan for people with very early, low-risk pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). If you have a mild form of PAH and haven't yet taken other PAH medications, this trial might help slow the progression of your condition.

Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • Your pulmonary artery pressure should be between 20 and 25 mmHg, and your pulmonary vascular resistance between 2 and 3 Wood units.
  • You must have one of these types of pulmonary arterial hypertension: idiopathic, heritable, drug/toxin-induced, or associated with connective tissue disease, portal hypertension, or congenital heart disease.
  • You must be at low risk according to current guidelines for pulmonary hypertension.
  • You must not have taken any PAH-specific medications before this trial (except occasional use of erectile dysfunction medication).
  • You must not have certain other conditions like severe anemia, kidney problems, or liver issues.
