Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 45 years old
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 25 and 40
  • You have fatty liver disease confirmed by an MRI scan (more than 10% fat in your liver)
  • Your weight has been stable for the past 3 months (less than 3% change)
  • You are not very active now (less than 1 hour per week of moderate exercise)
  • You do not have diabetes, or you have type 2 diabetes that is well-controlled with lifestyle alone
