Who can take part

  • You are 22 years old or older.
  • You have sudden stroke-like symptoms (such as weakness, trouble speaking, or numbness) that started within the last 24 hours.
  • You have not already received treatment (like a clot-dissolving drug) for this stroke.
  • You do not have any metal or electronic devices implanted in your head or neck.
  • You can lie still for the brief scan and do not have a scalp wound, head injury, or prior brain surgery that would interfere.
