Kidney nerve treatment for high blood pressure pilot study

Who can take part

  • You are taking 2 or more blood pressure medications, including one that targets the kidneys (like an ACE inhibitor or ARB) and another like amlodipine or a diuretic.
  • Your blood pressure medications have been the same for at least 30 days.
  • Your average daytime blood pressure while awake is at least 135 mmHg (systolic) and less than 170/105 mmHg.
  • Your office blood pressure is at least 140 mmHg but below 180 mmHg systolic.
  • You do not have atrial fibrillation, uncontrolled sleep apnea, or other serious heart or kidney conditions.
  • You are not pregnant, do not have a history of noncompliance with treatment, and do not have certain kidney or urinary tract problems.
