  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
  • Your doctor thinks this medication is right for you and you have never taken it before.
  • You have had a blood test for HbA1c (average blood sugar) in the last 4 weeks.
  • You do not have serious kidney problems (eGFR less than 30) or diabetic ketoacidosis.
  • You are not in another clinical trial or have been in one within the last month.
