Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You have a specific type of leukemia called CBF-AML that also has a change in the KIT gene
- You have not yet received chemotherapy or other treatment for this leukemia (except possibly very low-dose hydroxyurea or cytarabine)
- You are either between 18 and 64 and in good general health, OR you are 65 or older, or 18–64 with some health problems like heart or kidney issues
- Your liver, kidneys, and heart function are good enough for the study (your doctor will check this)
