Who can take part

  • You are 55 years or older.
  • You have obesity (diagnosed).
  • You are at risk for muscle loss due to at least one of: low score on a muscle function questionnaire, having multiple health conditions like diabetes or heart disease, taking 8 or more prescribed medications, or showing signs of weakness or poor function.
  • You are not currently doing resistance training.
  • You are not on a special diet or weight-loss program, unless stable on medication like GLP-1 agonists.
  • You are not a vegetarian or vegan, and you can eat legumes and red meat.
