Study of indapamide for low calcium after thyroid surgery

Hypoparathyroidism Post-surgical

Part of Hormones & metabolism clinical trials.

This trial tests if a blood pressure medication called indapamide can help people who have low calcium levels after having their thyroid (or parathyroid) glands removed. It may help reduce the need for high doses of vitamin D.

Preventing low parathyroid after thyroid surgery

This study aims to find ways to detect and prevent low parathyroid function after thyroid surgery. If you are having your whole thyroid removed, joining could help researchers learn how to improve recovery.

Study of two diuretics to prevent kidney stones

This trial tests two diuretics (indapamide and chlorthalidone) to see if they reduce the risk of forming new calcium kidney stones. It may help people who have had at least two calcium-based kidney stones in the past 10 years.

Calcium and Vitamin D to prevent low calcium after thyroid surgery

This study tests whether taking calcium plus vitamin D before thyroid surgery prevents a common side effect—low blood calcium after the operation. You'd receive either calcium alone or calcium with vitamin D, and the researchers will track which works better.

Study of a new drug for adults with low parathyroid hormone

This trial tests an experimental drug called Canvuparatide against a placebo to see if it can help adults with a condition called hypoparathyroidism, where the body doesn't make enough parathyroid hormone. The goal is to improve calcium levels and reduce the need for high-dose calcium and vitamin D supplements.

Using dye imaging to protect parathyroid glands during thyroid surgery

This trial studies whether a special “dye” imaging test during total thyroid surgery can help preserve your parathyroid gland function, which is important for calcium balance. It may reduce the risk of low calcium after surgery.
