Who can take part

  • You have epilepsy (either primary or secondary) and your medical records are complete.
  • You have been taking valproate regularly for at least 5 days, and your blood levels are stable.
  • You take valproate either alone or with other anti-seizure medications.
  • You do not have serious liver or kidney problems, and you are not pregnant.
  • You are 65 years old or younger.
