Study of oral cholesterol-lowering pill in children with HeFH

Heterozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia (HeFH)

Who can take part

  • Your child must have a confirmed diagnosis of heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH), either by a doctor's evaluation or a genetic test.
  • Your child's 'bad' cholesterol (LDL-C) level must be 130 mg/dL or higher on a fasting blood test.
  • Your child must be on a stable dose of cholesterol-lowering medication(s) for at least 30 days before the trial starts, with no planned changes during the study.
  • Your child must be taking an optimized daily dose of statin (maybe with other meds), or if statins are not possible, must have documented intolerance to at least two different statins (or one statin plus a refusal to take statins) and be on other cholesterol-lowering medication.
