Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- Your own mitral heart valve, or one you already had replaced, is not working properly and needs to be replaced.
- You agree to have the surgery and follow the study rules.
- You have not had a serious heart infection (endocarditis) in the last 3 months.
- Your kidneys are working well enough (no stage 4 kidney disease or dialysis needed).
- Your life expectancy is at least 2 years, aside from any heart problem.
