- You are 18 years or older
- You are currently in a hospital (ICU or rehabilitation unit) and have a tracheostomy tube that is being removed gradually
- Your doctor has prescribed both physical therapy and speech therapy evaluations
- You have not had your larynx (voice box) surgically removed
- You do not have severe trouble swallowing or difficulty understanding instructions
