This study tests two different medications (Anti-Thymocyte Globulin and Adalimumab or Verapamil) to see if they can slow down the loss of insulin production in people with newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive one of the treatments and will be followed for about a year to see how well their bodies still make insulin.

Who can take part
- You must be between 9 and 21 years old.
- You must have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes within the last 6 months.
- You must have at least one diabetes-related autoantibody present.
