Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 4 and 9 years old when diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
  • Diagnosis must have happened within the last 3 months.
  • Blood tests must show your child still makes some insulin (C-peptide level > 0.12 nmol/ml).
  • Your child must have at least one diabetes-related antibody (such as GADA, IAA, IA-2A, or ZnT8A).
  • Your child cannot have heart problems, low blood pressure, or a history of anemia.
