Who can take part
- You are scheduled for a total or half thyroid removal surgery at UMMC.
- You are between 18 and 80 years old.
- You do not have any vocal cord weakness before surgery.
- You are not allergic to dexamethasone (a type of steroid).
- Your surgery does not include neck dissection (removing lymph nodes) or a goiter extending behind your breastbone.
