Who can take part
- You are 18 years old or older
- You have been in the ICU on a breathing machine (ventilator) for at least 4 days
- You are awake and can follow simple commands like opening your eyes or sticking out your tongue
- You have at least some strength in one leg to push it out (score of 3 or higher on a strength test)
- You do not have a broken leg, amputation, or certain brain or nerve conditions that affect movement
